What is Eleuthero?
Originally called ‘Siberian Ginseng,’ Eleuthero is a shrub native to Asia whose root has been used by people throughout history in folk medicine. This is because Eleuthero is often referred to as the “King of Adaptogens,” and may restore energy and help the body adapt to stress. While it was used anciently for medicinal purposes, today it's used for its many natural health benefits and is treasured by a variety of people. Research involving professional athletes, astronauts and other professions demonstrates that eleuthero may help to increase your energy so you can get more done—even the most challenging work.(1) This herb can be used to enhance performance, reduce fatigue or simply to defend the body from occasional stress. This herbal supplement can improve health and wellness for a more content life.
Benefits of Eleuthero:
While Eleuthero may generally increase your energy and reduce fatigue, it may also produce more specific benefits that can improve your health. Here are three important benefits you may see when you add Eleuthero to your diet.
Help the Body Adapt to Stress:
Eleuthero is often considered an adaptogen, which is a group of herbs that can help the body resist stress. It works by regulating the adrenal glands that produce stress hormones. If you’re looking for a way to deal with the daily problems you face at work, home, and everywhere in between without getting overwhelmed, Eleuthero may be something you’ll want to try!
Help Your Endurance:
This study shows that men who took an Eleuthero supplement for eight weeks were able to workout longer and with more intensity. In fact, the men who took a supplement saw their endurance rate increase by 23%! If you’re someone who works out regularly and would like to increase your stamina, Eleuthera tea could be a great way to do that naturally.
Boost Your Immune System:
One of the most important benefits is its effect on your immune system. Historically, this has been one of the main reasons people used Eleuthero, and recently, studies have backed this up. Boosting your immune system does more than just prevent illness. It may also help prevent ulcers, reduce respiratory tract infections, and even heal wounds.

What is Ginger?
Ginger also has a long, admirable history in herbal tradition. Its benefits are very wide-ranging. It can help with everything from nausea to blood pressure, and even to weight loss and arthritic pain.(2) Simply put, Ginger's many medicinal properties can add overall wellness to your body. Combined the comprehensive benefits of ginger with eleuthero makes a winning combination. Ginger is a well-known herb that naturally potentiates, harmonizes, and improves the deep circulation of other herbs.(3) Or, in other words, ginger may help eleuthero’s rejuvenating power spread more effectively throughout your body, so you can reap the full health benefits of the supplement.
Are They Safe to Use?
Generally speaking, ginger is very safe to use, and there aren’t any side effects you might see from adding ginger to your diet. For the most part, Eleuthero is the same. Although it hasn’t yet been thoroughly researched, all of the studies done so far make it clear that it’s safe to take in the correct amounts (300-1,200 mg daily). However, we do recommend making sure you don’t take too much at any one time, as that could lead to unwanted side effects. It’s also a good idea to check with your doctor before using new herbal supplements, and avoid using them if you’re pregnant or nursing.
How to Use Eleuthero
Like many herbs, there are a number of different ways to use Eleuthero. It can be purchased in many forms, including tablets, capsules, and as a liquid. You can also purchase dried leaves and stems, boiling them to make homemade tea. However, at Sun Chlorella, we simplify this process with our tea bags and tablets! We have included our recommended recipe for Eleuthero and Ginger Tea to help you keep calm, and carry on, even on the most stressful days.
Ginger Eleuthero Tea
Yield: 1 quart
Ingredients:
1 one-and-a-half-inch piece of ginger, grated
3 herb tea bags of your choice
3 tbsp Sun Eleuthero Extract
Optional: lemon, to taste (we added 6 half-slices)
Optional: add sweetener of your choice
Instructions:
Put the grated ginger in a pot with 1-quart water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer for half an hour or more. The longer you gently simmer the ginger, the more you’ll extract its natural goodness and flavor.
Remove the pot from heat and add the Infuse Your Mood® tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes or until flavor reaches personal preference.
Remove tea bags and add ice. You can also add lemon if desired. Enjoy!
Note: Sun Eleuthero Extract has a unique and subtle woodsy sweetness from the herbs alone. Some people add lemon based on personal taste. Add lemon to your tea only if desired.
