6 Signs That Show Your Detox Routine Is Actually Working with this Amazing Superfood

Odoo CMS - a big picture

April 2, 2019 -- Environmental stressors are a glaring negative of modern life. From pesticides to pollution, to exposure to common household cleaners, toxins pervade every aspect of our lives.

Luckily, your body is able to detoxify itself thanks to your elimination organs— your liver, bowel, kidneys, skin, and lungs. Even at the cellular level, our bodies are hard at work filtering out impurities.

But there are steps we can take to support our natural detoxification process Through dietary changes, supplements, and simple, time-tested cleansing methods, we can support our body’s natural detoxification process

There are a variety of cleansing routines on the market to facilitate this process, but the underlying action is essentially the same: get the good stuff (nutrition) in and get the bad stuff out. Good nutrition ensures that our elimination organs function as well as they can. Naturally detoxifying herbs and foods can assist our body in this process.

One particularly helpful detoxing agent is chlorella— a single-celled algae that can support both sides of the detoxification equation. This dark green algae is often called a “superfood” because it has unique detoxifying benefits...

Since the 1970s, scientists have documented a variety of health benefits related to the unique nutrients and gently detoxifying action of regular chlorella consumption. It supports our energy levels and overall good health.

But if you’re just getting started on this journey to internal cleansing, you might feel a little worse before you feel better as stimulating the detoxification process may initially have negative effects.

People who experience detoxification process may see it as something bad— that your program is failing or you’re making yourself sick— but it is typically a sign that your cleanse is working.

Your detoxification process shouldn’t be severe (but they may be if you’re being too aggressive with your cleanse), and they shouldn’t last long— just a few days at the most. But, if you’re able to endure a little discomfort, a feeling of health and well-being is right around the corner.

Here are six signs that your detox routine is on the right track, even if it might not feel like it at the moment.

Occasional Constipation and Diarrhea

People typically think of the bowel as the main elimination organ. Your colon definitely helps usher out waste at the end of the process, but much of the work of detoxification happens in the liver. Your liver filters impurities out of your blood, and then directs them to your colon for the final send off.

At least that’s what is supposed to happen. However, if your liver is dumping debris into a colon that’s not quite up to speed, occasional constipation and/or diarrhea may result.

Gas and Bloating

Fiber is essential for detoxification. One function of fiber is that it feeds beneficial gut bacteria, which can change the composition of your microbiome. If you also cut back on sugar, simple carbs, and processed foods during your cleanse, you can minimize the population of problematic bacteria overgrowth at the same time.

Establishing a healthy balance of gut bacteria is an important step on the road to health, but gas and bloating may result in the interim. As old bacteria die off and new strains take root, there can be some gurgling and churning as your gut finds a new balance. Taking a probiotic during this awkward phase can help make the transition a little smoother.

Chlorella helps to support your digestive health by feeding the beneficial bacteria in the colon.

Body Odor

Your colon isn’t the only exit for toxins; your body can sweat them out as well. And the more impurities in you are to begin with, the more you may stink once they are released.

Water is your friend when it comes to washing out these impurities. But another helpful element is chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll is what gives plants their green color. Chlorophyll allows plants to soak up energy from sunlight,

Chlorella also happens to contain more chlorophyll than other plants.

You can help your body push past the odor issue by making it sweat. Enjoying a sauna or a strenuous workout will aid your body’s toxin release. Just make sure to drink more water to replenish your fluids.

Cold Like Symptoms

Some people will experience cold like symptoms when starting a detox regime

This may be a natural reaction, but it’s not the time to tough it out. Instead, slow down and take it easy. This is the time for warmth, both inside and out. Draw a hot bath. Fire up the tea kettle. Wrap yourself in a wool blanket. You’re getting rid of toxins. Give yourself a chance to rest and recover.

Another reason to take it easy during a detox is that it can make you irritable. You want to avoid confrontational situations even at the best of times, but it’s especially wise to steer clear during a cleanse. During a detox, your body is in transition, and it can be uncomfortable, so you may be quick to anger and emotional reactions. Take heart in knowing that you’ll be back to yourself in a short time. As long as your elimination keeps working well, your moodiness will eventually pass too.

One of the major reasons people seek a detox is that it can give you more energy. Your system works best when there isn’t extra junk gumming up the works. However, you can feel extremely sluggish as this junk works its way out.

Again, this is a time to go easy on yourself. Detoxing is a chance to listen closer to your body and hear what it needs to feel better. As you turn up the volume on your elimination organs, it can literally take a lot out of you. So, aim to be supportive, not punishing.

For this reason, it’s best to conduct a detox when you have time to slow down, not during a busy or high stress period in your life. Scheduling time for rest and self-care can make the process more effective and more enjoyable.

A Good Supplement Choice

Chlorella can help with the whole detox process— from supporting the elimination organs with unique nutrition, to supporting cell’s health, and supporting your natural detoxifying process — but keep in mind that the quality of the supplement can make a huge difference in the results you get.

One major obstacle with chlorella is that its wealth of nutrients and cleansing phytochemicals are locked away. In the wild, this algae has a very tough cell wall that our digestive system can’t penetrate on its own. It has to go through a process to make it digestible.

Some manufacturers have used heat or chemicals to bust through this barrier. But heat can hurt the algae’s nutritional content, and chemicals add an undesirable factor.

An important innovation in chlorella supplements came in 1981 when Sun Chlorella Corp. of Japan developed a patented process to pulverize the thick outer wall of the chlorella cell without heat or chemicals, allowing the body to utilize all of chlorella’s nutritional benefits.

The result is a toxin-free chlorella supplement with maximum nutrition content that our body can absorb easier than much of the chlorella on the market.
