Learn about 5 simple and effective tips to attract more positive energy toward you in 2017.

Many of us welcomed the new year a few weeks ago, but Chinese New Year (which falls on January 28th this year) is another opportunity to feel re-inspired by your resolutions, and invite good luck into all areas of your life— such as business, health, and relationships.

Celebrating Chinese New Year is symbolic for letting go of the past and clearing out negative energy, which is thought to set the tone for a prosperous year ahead. In addition to the goals you’ve set, you may also find these Chinese New Year traditions helpful for attracting more success to you in 2017.

Here are 5 simple ways to experience more positivity and invite new beginnings for Chinese New Year.

1. Declutter Your Home

A great way to catch your reader's attention is to tell a story. Everything you consider writing can be told as a story.

In the weeks leading up to the Chinese New Year, feng shui is a tradition practiced to clear out negative energy from at home. Feng shui is the ancient practice of arranging the objects in your home to support the flow of positive energy, and to invite more success, prosperity, health and happiness into your life.

It’s believed that negative energy can get stuck in the areas of your home that are messy and cluttered, which is why the Chinese New Year is the perfect time to get rid of anything you no longer need. You may wish to clean out your closet and donate old clothes to charity, or reorganize your home office or kitchen pantry.

Since the idea behind feng shui is to allow more positive energy, also known as “qi” (pronounced chi), to flow freely through your home, you may want to rearrange your furniture in ways that create a more inviting space.

Placing fresh bowls of fruit throughout your home is also a Chinese New Year feng shui tradition for attracting more abundance.

2. Set Intentions

In addition to your New Year’s resolutions, you may also want to set intentions.

Intentions can be more powerful than goals because they focus on how you want to feel in the present moment, rather than looking towards plans for the future.

Relationships: holding hands

For example, let’s say your intention is to improve your relationships. Throughout the day, you may consciously focus on improving your relationships by responding to the people around you in a loving manner, communicating to the best of your ability, and offering support to those in need.

As you can see, your intentions keep you focused in the “now” and help guide the choices you make, which is why you can fulfill intentions that will enrich your life every moment of the day.

3. Be Mindful of Your Words and Thoughts

Since Chinese New Year traditions aim to attract more happiness and positivity, you’ll want to avoid giving your attention to negative energy by using negative language, complaining, or talking excessively about negative experiences.

One of the ways we may unintentionally attract bad energy to us is by focusing on fears, worries, painful experiences, and thoughts. While it’s simply part of life to experience these emotions, you have the power to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. You can think of positive thoughts as magnets that attract more positive energy towards you.

Start paying attention to your feelings, thoughts and words throughout the day. When you feel a negative emotion or thought arise, immediately choose to focus on a thought that makes you feel inspired, excited or happy instead.

Replacing negative thoughts with positive ones may take some practice at first, but eventually you’ll do this automatically. As the days go on, you’ll begin to notice a powerful, positive change in the way you view and experience the circumstances in your life.

4. Clear the Air

Chinese New Year is all about letting go of the old to make room for the new. This is why “clearing the air” is a powerful practice for all areas of your life: including business, finances and your personal life. In fact, one Chinese New Year tradition is to sweep your floors on New Year’s Eve, which is symbolic for sweeping away what no longer serves you. (On the other hand, sweeping on the day of Chinese New Year is forbidden, as this is believed to sweep away the abundance and good energy that’s entered your home).

To help “clear the air” for Chinese New Year, you may want to reach out to a friend you haven’t spoken to in a few years, or pay an outstanding bill you’ve been putting off. You may also want to express any suppressed resentment or stress by writing an unsent letter, or writing in a journal. All of these practices further help eliminate negativity from your life, so more positive energy can flow towards you.

5. Eat High Energy Food

Lastly, you can create more positive energy by choosing to eat high energy foods.

Unprocessed foods such as fruit, vegetables, leafy greens, and superfoods such as chlorella, are the foods that provide us with the most nutrition, and therefore, the most energy. When we have loads of energy, it’s a sign that our health and wellness is optimal— which is also when we’ll feel most vibrant, rejuvenated and positive.

As mentioned above, fruit, vegetables and leafy greens are an excellent source of nutrients that provide energy and promote body detoxification, such as antioxidant vitamins. Chlorella, the amazing green superfood, is a green algae that can help rid your body of toxins, and build up your immune system to promote optimal health in the New Year.

If you’re looking for a simple way to increase your energy levels and improve your overall health, I recommend adding Sun Chlorella® powder to your favorite raw food recipes and smoothies, or taking Sun Chlorella® tablets as a nutritional supplement.

Since Sun Chlorella tablets are made from 100% chlorella (free from additives and harsh chemicals), they can be taken regularly as a whole food supplement to support daily purification, without any harsh side effects.

From an energetic perspective, it’s best to enter a New Year without the weight of toxins in your body, or the heavy weight of negative stress.

If you’re under a lot of mental or physical stress, you may also want to consider taking a nutritional supplement for stress support in the New Year, such as an adaptogen.

An adaptogen is an herb that can help your body cope and respond to stress more efficiently, while providing you with lasting mental clarity and focus, which stress often depletes. For this reason, adaptogens, such as Organic Sun Eleuthero®, can also be effective as natural energy supplements when taken during prolonged periods of stress.

I, personally, take Organic Sun Eleuthero® tablets to help manage fatigue and anxiety— two of the most common side effects of stress on the mind and body.

By consciously supporting your mind and body in positive ways each day by cleaning your surroundings and bringing in more nutrients, you’ll begin to notice that happiness and success flow to you effortlessly.
