Sun Chlorella USA is seeking a dynamic Graphic Designer to join our team in Torrance, CA 90505.

Summary: 

The SCUSA Graphic Designer is responsible for creating professional print and web design work including webpages, packaging, advertising material, catalogs, brochures, and email graphics. Also responsible for the creative strategy and concepts for projects as assigned. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


Print 

  • Using the software available, create and/or updates all marketing materials including but not limited to brochures, print advertisements, sell sheets, flyers, inserts, bonus reports, direct mail pieces, catalogs, and packaging 

  • Designs and produces art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media such as books, magazines, and newspapers 

  • Prepares final layout for printer on paper, film, or online as well as checks proofs to make sure color, font, spacing, and images are correct  

  • Arranges, takes and/or manipulates photographs for inclusion in direct mail pieces, collateral material, and/or online needs  

  • Prepares new product packaging mock-ups (to size) to present to management  


Web 

  • Tests and seeks to improves the design of company's websites and email strategies 

  • Establishes design guidelines, standards, and best practices 

  • Maintains the appearance of websites and email templates by enforcing content standards 

  • Designs visual imagery for websites and digital content in line with company's branding and content standards 

  • Works with different content management systems 

  • Incorporates functionalities and features into websites  

 

Other 

  • Actively participates in project team meetings by contributing design and format recommendations 

  • Attends photo shoots, seminars, or press checks when required 

  • As needed, reviews final proofs, suggests improvements, and presents final layout to manager for approval 

  • Responsible for the proper filing and storage of image source files 

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops/seminars, reviewing professional publications or online articles 

  • Acts as the point of contact for all packaging artwork communication and edits with our headquarters in Japan (knowledge in Japanese culture and language helpful but not required) 

  • Works closely with the Regulatory agency to ensure all regulatory requirements are met for any artwork created 

  • Assists the Trade Show and Events Coordinator with booth layout direction and look and feel, as well as creating booth renderings as needed 

  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS) 

  • At least 2 years of related experience and/or training 

  • Strong graphic design skills 

  • Strong front-end development web programming 

  • Must be competent with both PC and MAC platforms 

  • Proficient in Quark and Adobe Creative Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Ability to sit for an extended period of time, in front of a computer while using a headset continuously. Ability to walk, bend, and twist on an intermittent basis throughout the workday. Ability to grasp (simple grasping and fine manipulation), push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers. Ability to type and write frequently. Ability to talk on and operate telephone and headset. WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is an open Customer Relations that is fast-paced and feedback-heavy. Customer Relations Representatives each have their own workstation and work closely within a few feet of multiple colleagues. Work environment involves team-oriented activities, meetings, and contests on a regular basis. Call monitoring and recording on all calls take place continuously.
