The #1 Reason You're Not Getting Results With Your Health (And How to Fix That)

Sometimes getting results with your health and wellness can feel like a guessing game. Perhaps you’ve worked extra hard in the gym but saw no change in your definition, or added superfoods to your diet and felt no improvement in your energy levels. Regardless of what you’ve set out to achieve with your health, failing to get results leaves you feeling disappointed, discouraged and unmotivated.

Provided that you are in good health, keep up with your annual checkups and you have no underlying medical conditions to explain why you aren’t getting results despite your hard work, there is a simple way to get the results you want with your health that isn’t emphasized nearly enough. The key to your success is consistency. 


You Are What You Repeatedly Do

 Amazing results only happen through repeated action.

Your body is extraordinarily complex, and just as Rome wasn’t built in a day, it can take time for your body to adjust to new habits and nutrients, and show signs of change. This is why taking a nutritional supplement for body purification a few times each week isn’t nearly as effective as taking it at the same time, every single day. 

Remembering “you are what you repeatedly do” can also keep you on track with your health goals by taking off some of the pressure. By this, I mean hitting a bump in the road or falling off track isn’t going to undo your efforts if you’re already in the habit of being consistent. 

For example, let’s say you’ve shifted your lifestyle to eating whole, unprocessed foods 80% of the time, and adding the amazing green superfood, chlorella, to your smoothie recipes and are exercising to help maintain weight. If you go out with friends and eat a few slices of pizza, the occasional refined food isn’t likely to sabotage your health goals. This is because you consistently receive quality nutrients from your diet, and have cultivated eating habits that will put you on track for your next meal. 

On the other hand, it’s easier to fall into patterns that sabotage your health goals (such as having a “treat meal” which turns into a week-long junk food binge) when you’re only working towards your desires occasionally.


Why Consistency is Crucial for Improving Your Health

 

Not only does consistency force you to create positive habits, but it also allows you to measure your results. Is the nutritional supplement you’ve been taking for 90 days boosting your energy levels, or do you still feel tired and sluggish?

You must be able to accurately track your progress, as most positive changes in your body happen gradually, not instantly. By determining what truly is— and isn’t— working, you can make the necessary changes to get closer to where you want to be.

Being consistent also allows you to develop a stronger success mindset, because it forces you to continually visualize the outcome you want to achieve. What you focus on expands, which means the more time you concentrate on a particular situation or circumstance, the more likely it is to materialize (and at a much faster rate!).

When you begin to see and feel the difference in your health as a result of being consistent, you’re more likely to stick to the positive habits you’ve created.


Here Are 3 Simple Tips For Being More Consistent: 

 

1. Commit to Your Goal   

Commit 100% to your goals. This means you must have the burning desire to achieve your goal, and for reasons that truly matter to you.  

When you’ve committed yourself to achieving a certain result, you’ll be more motivated to take the necessary steps to bring you closer to your goal.

2. Find Your “Why”  

Sometimes all it takes to become more consistent is to have a crystal clear understanding of why you want to achieve a certain result.

Will improved cellular health increase your energy levels, so you can spend more time with your children? For example, if your goal is to increase your energy levels naturally, you may start by simply going to bed 30 minutes earlier each night. A consistent sleep routine will help you determine if 30 minutes of extra sleep is enough to boost your energy levels, or if other efforts are needed, such as adding superfoods to your diet.  

If your body isn’t getting the support it needs, either from nutrients or rest and recovery, it won’t be able to stand up to the challenges of everyday life.
