It all began as a single man's dream - the dream of our founding father, Mr. Ryuseki Nakayama. Upon experiencing an onslaught of illnesses that left his body battered, he made a fateful discovery that put him on the road to recovery: Chlorella. The rest of his life was dedicated to researching its benefits, and in 1969, he and his wife established Chlorella C.G.F. Co., Ltd. in Kyoto, Japan in hopes that more people will benefit from its use. In the next 10 years that followed, what began as a small supplement business grew into one of the top names of chlorella in Japan's highly-competitive health food industry.

By 1982, the company - newly named Sun Chlorella Co., Ltd. - was ready to venture out into the world's vast health food market. Sun Chlorella USA was then established in Torrance, CA as the first North American headquarters. In addition to delivering superior natural health products nationwide, Sun Chlorella USA supports natural and healthy living through educational seminars and publications.
